1. Waking up @ 5 am to ANY Disturbed song will scare the hell out of you. (Even if you're a fan.)
2. I'm getting old. I actually listened and enjoyed NPR News at 6 am on my way to work.
3. Never rush out of the office on a Friday without making sure all of Monday's work is ready to go. Whatever you forget on Friday will make you come to work EARLY on Monday.
4. An all you can eat pizza buffet with co-workers and mango gelato is a nice break in the middle of the day.
5. Alternating between the music of Rammstein & Matthew Ryan while trying to knock out a "to do list" a mile long works.
6. Gas prices still suck but not as bad as the stock market.
7. I should have paid more attention in economics.
8. I should be more savvy with my money and understand the difference between the various ways to save. (Thank God for Suze Orman. She might come across as a smug bitch, but you know what, she got me out of debt.)
9. Knowing you should work out isn't a great motivator to work out.
10. Sometimes a mediocre Pinot Noir, Chex Mix, and mind numbing TV is exactly the way to end a day you didn't realize was stressful.
11. I realized that I am not a fan of Sarah Palin, Joe Biden, John McCain, or Barack Obama. Can I write Jimmy Buffett in for President? Margaritas at 5 anyone? We do need a change and it's a change in latitude and attitude.
12. At the end of the day, the thing that matters to me is that I can sit on my front porch and stare up at the stars and maybe just glimpse a planet, a meteor, or galaxy passing on by me.

Why Does Grass Make You Itch?
I enjoyed a very relaxing day. Just sitting in the grass and playing with the dogs in the front yard while the sun was out and a nice breeze floated by. It was nice to have my mind at peace. Filled with quiet and calm. Of course then I received a mosquito bite. I am the only person I know that can get a bug bite within 5 seconds of stepping outdoors. It doesn't stop me from being outdoors though. I cover myself in bug spray and go have fun. Being outside, did bring up the inevitable question of "Why does grass make one itch?" I didn't feel it while outside, it was just afterwards when I came into the house. That dilemma doesn't stop me from being outdoors either.
Now, as I write this, light gray clouds are filling the sky and with the tease of rain. I hope it does rain. I always enjoy the smell of the fresh rain and the outdoors coming through my window. It's like the earth just exhaled a sweet and intoxicating breath...

Hitting a Wall
Funny...as I sit here and type this, I realize the last time I wrote a blog I was listening to "I Hear a Symphony" from Matthew Ryan. Maybe it's funner. Who knows?
I've got writer's block. Actually, I should say, I have a writer's wall. I'm staring at the wall and see nothing but a blank canvas. I'm at a pivotal scene in The Dumbing Down of Love but can't seem to get the words right. It's like the movie just ended and I'm sitting here in the dark waiting for it to start again.
All the while, brief scenes and characters are popping up in quick blinks. Too fast for me to catch and a constant reminder of the need to write...write quickly...write smartly.
On a entirely different subject, I am completely hooked on Fringe on Fox. The writing is sharp and quick and the action is fast paced. I love trying to connect the conspiracy of what might happen. (Yes, I was a fan of X-Files as well.) If you haven't seen it, I recommend it. And speaking of shows I am hooked on also watch Eureka on Sci-Fi. It is funny, entertaining, educating, and just great to watch!

Funner...more than just FUN
Yes, I know funner is not a word.
I saw Matthew Ryan vs The Silver State on Wednesday and the word popped up. It's been stuck in my head for days now. Sadly, only about 20 people got to see a completely fantastic and brilliant set and at the same time I was happy to be 1 of 20 because the performance was so intimate and touching. So if you're reading this, please check out Matthew Ryan. Go see him when he comes to town because trust me it will be "funner" than whatever you were going to do that night.
Anyway, I've been re-inspired so to speak with my writing. I've found voices for once lost characters and it has been very overwhelming trying to focus on just one project when there are dozen voices in your head. These are good voices though. Not the ones that say you're the next coming Messiah or to harm others.
The Dumbing Down of Love will hopefully be done within the next 2 to 3 months. Maybe earlier. I'm moved by these characters. They're just trying to find love in this crazy world...maybe the fates are with them and they will...only they know and I'm waiting for them to finish their story just like they are waiting for me to write it.
